Focus

Kyoko joined the Energy Systems, Asia team in ClientEarth’s Brussels office in December 2022. She conducts legal and policy research with a special focus on Japan.

Experience

Prior to joining ClientEarth, she gained experience organizing civil action for climate change measures as well as sustainable corporate consulting and research in biodiversity issues such as marine protection in the coasts of Japan. Kyoko’s time in grassroots projects targeting the public and private sector have led her to pursue a role in which she can promote the just transition by influencing larger frameworks of society.

Education

Kyoko holds a Bachelors in International Legal Studies, specializing in International Environmental Law at Sophia University in Tokyo and a Masters in Environmental Policy from the Paris School of International Affairs.

Working at ClientEarth gives me hope that with our legal and policy tools, we will be able to achieve systemic change in time to create an inclusive and equal society living in harmony with nature.
