The Luminous festival forum in pictures
Sydney Opera House illuminated as part of Brian Eno's Luminous Festival, 26 May - 14 June 2009. The illuminations constantly changed throughout the festival, the images formed from fragments of 300 of Eno's earlier works in an installation named 77 million paintings.
As part of the festival, ClientEarth CEO James Thornton joined Brian Eno on the stage of the opera house to take part in a forum discussing the role of law in achieving environmental change.
Anaïs Berthier, a staff lawyer based in ClientEarth's Brussels office, also took part in the panel, which discussed a broad range of topics proposed by the assembled audience including the positives and negatives of nuclear power - an issue that generated heated debate on and off stage.
Other panel members were Mark Diesendorf of the University of New South Wales, Amanda MacKenzie from the Youth Climate Coalition, Sydney Morning Herald editor Marian Wilkinson, Kirsty Ruddock of the Australian Network of Environmental Defender's Offices and Steve Ross from the Murray-Darling Basin Authority.
At the end of the forum, our client provided her stamp of approval with a serendipitous double-rainbow.
